Hedda Gabler  follows the title character, Hedda, the daughter of a general, who is trapped in a marriage and a house that she does not want. This show played in thrust at the Jericho Arts Centre, an intimate venue with minimal crew. I was the Stage Manager on this project. I learned extensive firearm safety protocols through the use of two prop revolvers that were loaded with blanks and fired onstage. During the performances, I operated both the light and sound boards, rather than calling cues to an operator. Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, I also had to bring on swing ASMs for 5 different performances. I worked with my ASMs to create comprehensive backstage paperwork, and talked each swing ASM through the track as I ran cues.

Adapted from the 12th-century Sufi poem and reimagined for our current times, The Parliament of the Birds tells the story of a group of birds who embark on an epic journey in search of enlightenment and truth. This ensemble piece performed at the Frederic Wood Theatre featured a revolving set and a moulting costume design. I acted as the costumes ASM for this production. I tracked all costume changes and pieces, ran a successful quick change rehearsal and lead a crew of three dressers during the run of the show. As an ASM I also assisted with deck tasks, such as the facilitation of a large fabric bird at the end of this production, pictured. Photos of the performance were taken by Javier R. Sortes.

We Will Rock You is a jukebox musical set 300 years in the future featuring the songs of Queen! The show played for two summer months in the Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park. I acted as the props ASM for this production, but my largest project was the creation and upkeep of the Who/What/Where document, tracking all entrances, exits, and set changes throughout the show. The live document could be filtered by actor which allowed me to create a personalized track sheet for each member of the cast. This proved to be an invaluable resource for our swings and understudies. I also swung in as an ASM for several performances of TUT's other show, Something Rotten! Photos of the performance were taken by Emily Cooper.

Ella Hickson's Oil is a play about the global implications of our dependency on oil, following the lives of one woman and her daughter in a collision of empire, history and family. It was my debut show as a stage manager, performed at the Frederic Wood Theatre. Special elements included fight and intimacy choreography (range of sensitive topics, prop gun and axe), language and dialect coaching (5 coaches, each for a different language/dialect and working with specific actors, some overlapping), dance choreography, and general voice coaching.  Photos of the performance were taken by Javier R. Sortes.

Haunted Tales: An Evening Full of Fright was an immersive outdoor theatre experience in the spirit of Halloween, and my second production with Beach House Theatre. Audience members were led by a Ghostly Host through Camp Alexandra in Crescent Beach and visited six different characters, each of whom performed their own spooky monologue. Each of the six monologues took place in a different part of the camp, so required its own set, lighting, and soundscape. In addition to stage management, I participated in some lighting design, operation, and running crew during the show. Photos of the performance were taken by Veronica Blott.
